I still cry at the end of the first book, Magic's Pawn, and i almost always refuse to finish the third book because i can't stand the ending. When I looked for A series that I did enjoy which also dealt with the issues of gay relationships in a fantasy setting was Mercedes Lackey's Last Herald Mage trilogy, beginning with Magic's Pawn. The Dark Tower Series is my all time favorite. I also second the Merceds Lackey Last Herald Mage books…they still get to me. I didn't mean for it to take so long, and it certainly doesn't mean that the books aren't good or that I didn't like it - I did, a lot. Now I'm going to have to pick up the whole series.
